ITINERARY

Day 1: Colombo – Pinnawela – Dambulla

Although a lifetime is not enough to fully appreciate Sri Lanka's beauty, our experience recommended that you spend at least one week there.

In light of the preceding remark, we have designed a 1 week Sri Lanka travel itinerary.
On the very first day of your big tour of Sri Lanka, you will immediately begin your journey in the island nation. We will travel to Pinnawela en route to Dambulla. Approximately 96 elephants reside in this city. Feel the kindness of these gigantic beasts as they go about their daily duties, which includes consuming a meager 76 kg of grain, at Pinnawela, the world's largest breeding facility for captive elephants. When you pet their little brown hairy heads, you will build an affectionate relationship with the mischievous baby elephants. After feeling all warm and fuzzy, the traveler will depart for Dambulla.

Spend the night in a motel in Dambulla.

Day 2: Dambulla - Sigiriya

Your wonderful breakfast is awaiting you at the hotel, so fill your stomachs because today will truly rock. On the second day of your Sri Lanka trip, we go to Dambulla, where you will find tranquillity in the lap of nature as you wonder at the rock temple of Dambulla, an example of human creativity. The history of magnificent sandstone structures is only about two thousand years old! These temples include around 150 appealing pictures of Lord Buddha sculpted by several generations of Sri Lankan kings. You will find murals depicting every part of the lord's life at this temple, which eloquently demonstrates Sri Lanka's devotion with Buddha. The next stop is the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which King Kashyapa constructed to protect himself from his brother's invasions. The most remarkable sight you face as you attempt to approach this citadel is a massive lion greeting you. Once you enter this Unesco world heritage site, you will meet rows of frescoes, making you feel as if you have entered Indra's palace. Apsaras greet you with flowers and awe-inspiring beauty. Feast your eyes on the splendors of Sigiriya while your imagination drifts back in time in an attempt to conjure a vision of Kashyapa's court.

There will be an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 3: Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa – Sigiriya

On the third day of your Sri Lanka vacation package, following a scrumptious breakfast, you will be transferred to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. This city was previously the capital of the chola monarchs, and the royal palace still contains numerous historical artifacts. The vast palace although in ruins today, it remains a gorgeous location and if you allow the horses of your imagination stray through the sands of time you might well find the king in his full royal attire in this very area!!. The lotus spa or Nelum pokuna is another location worthy of a visit in Polonnaruwa. The lotus bath is a tiny stone bath fashioned in the style of concentric, descending lotuses. Even seasoned architects are awestruck by the magnificence of this location, which is enhanced by the surrounding garden filled with a variety of flowering plants. Galvihariya is the next stop on our tour of this historic city. Galvihara or Galvihariya are rock-cut statues of Lord Buddha, including a 14-meter-long statue of the deity sleeping. The tranquility and serenity on the lord’s face have been portrayed flawlessly by skilled sculptors of that age. You can sit here for a while and contemplate Buddhism and the teachings of Lord Buddha; it is the ideal spot to finish a busy morning. We return for lunch to Sigiriya and you are free to spend the evening in this magnificent town at leisure.

After an adventurous day, get return to the accommodation in Sigiriya for overnight stay.

Enjoy your Sri Lankan breakfast at Sigiriya before we go for Kandy. On the fourth day of your Sri Lanka tour, you will arrive at your accommodation in Kandy and then depart for a tour of the city. The city of kandy boasts a storied cultural legacy of handicrafts. The Kandy Arts and Crafts Centre, which was constructed in 1882 to reignite the city's artistic tradition, is the ideal place to purchase a memento to take home. Enjoy the laid-back Sri Lankan lifestyle in the Kandy town market, and inhale the enticing aromas of all types of spices and other delicacies while you long for a similar carefree existence. The next visit is the enthralling Kandy lake, a large artificial lake intended to enhance the appearance of the tooth temple. This lake's tranquil blue waters compliment its surrounding milky white walls very well. The Kandy Lake, which is surrounded by palm trees, is a reminder of Sri Lanka's beautiful past. The temple of tooth relic is one of the holiest sites in Sri Lanka, and the tooth in question is Lord Buddha's own teeth. Attractive white walls support a brilliant red roof, the walls have little apertures in them to house oil lamps during festivals. Once you enter the inner part of the temple, exquisitely carved pictures of wood, lacquer, and ivory are certain to captivate you. White robed pilgrims present flowers to the lord on a daily basis, entire place is full of pleasant smell of incense and flowers, ah what a treat for the senses.
